A new Candy (and Terry) blog!

Candy and Terry, art by Marco Albiero
Hi there! Since I found out about Candy Candy the Final Story, I have made four Candy-related posts in my personal blog. However, knowing my penchant of writing something I'm passionate about (ahem, my old wuxia mania, for instance...), today I've decided to make a new blog specifically about Candy and Terry.

I owe the birth this blog to many fans at the CandyTerry.com, particularly webmistress Nila. The "Shakespearean Fool" part of the blog name was originally inspired by Josephine Hymes, for she wrote Candy nicknaming Terry as a "Pompous Fool" in her amazing "The Season of Daffodils" fan-fiction.

Then I found out that there are Shakespearean fools in Shakespeare plays. Hence I think Terry - as a Shakespearean actor - would not mind to be called a "Shakespearean Fool", for he was usually a fool when he was in love...

Email me if you'd like to talk to me privately, otherwise, drop a comment on the posts!

Although the blog focuses more on Candy and Terry, I love most of Candy Candy characters (except for the Lagans and the Marlowes). I particularly love William Albert Ardlay and Alistair Cornwell, so I might celebrate them as well in future posts.

Hello, I just found out that the new volume of Candy Final Story part 2 in French will be named: Candy: the prince of the hill. Many argue that perhaps this was a bad choice of subtitle, because it hints at Albert, or the prince of the hill, as Anohito. What do you make in all this? Also, the title was approved by Nagita.

Hi, could you explain further please? Is Nagita writing a new CCFS? Or is the CCFS going to be translated into French and the sub title is The Prince of the Hill?

If everything remains the same (as in, the CCFS vol 1 and vol 2 are the same as the JP version), I am not worried about it. It could be another thing that Nagita does to side track readers...

Yes, it is the CCFS that we know and love to be translated in french. I can’t deny my mixed feelings about the choice of subtitle by the editor and the approval of Nagita in all of this. Even if it is to side track readers, a lot of people are using this to confirm the identity of anohito. On the other hand, the first part of CCFS in French was named: Candy: the orphan, and we all know in her heart she had a family that raised her so well (pony’s) so I think the subtitles are not used as a way to tell her future. Would love to hear more thoughts.

Hi Nadeshico,

I've written a new post regarding the French CCFS. I still think that Terry is Anohito.

thanks and take care,
Icha

Hi Marco,

Apologies for that. I honestly didn't realise the signature was not Yumiko Igarashi's. I have credited you in the blog. Again, my apologies.
